Beyond grains and coal, Kazakhstan diversified its exports to include petroleum products, ferrous metals, chemicals, and mineral fertilizers.

Earlier Daryo reported that Kazakhstan's coal production and exports declined in 2023. In the first half of 2023, the Central Asian nation produced 6 million tons of hard coal, reflecting a 2% decrease from the previous year. Despite this reduction, the Pavlodar and Karaganda regions remain the leading mining areas, contributing over 90% of the total production, with the Abay region also ranking among the top three.
