The EU reports that its ambassador in Ashgabat, Beata Peksa, met with Tangryguly Atakhallyev, Turkmenistan's deputy prime minister in charge of local agribusiness.

Turkmenistan produces cotton, wheat, rice and sugar beet. The main source of water is transboundary rivers, the largest of which is the Amu Darya.

Preparations are underway for the launch of the second national satellite, Türkmen Älem, at 52° East. This project will improve the management of the country's land cadastre and, as a result, increase land productivity and food security.
