Turkmenistan has taken delivery of the second of two recently acquired Boeing 777-300ER wide-body passenger jets, the world's longest range aircraft.
The deal was concluded by a separate decree from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The first aircraft joined the local fleet in December.
"The second modern aircraft is very economical and comfortable and can carry 368 passengers. There are 40 business class seats, 32 premium economy seats and 296 economy seats," Turkmenistan Airlines said in a press release.
Powered by two GE90-115BL2 engines, the aircraft has a range of 11,390 km and can operate international flights with a payload of up to 40 tonnes. The only national airline has been using American models since the 1990s.
The aircraft of this modification will be the first in the fleet of the only national airline, which already operates four Boeing 777-200 (LR) aircraft. Previously, the president had issued a decree supporting the order of four more Boeing 737-8s.
Turkmenistan also operates Russian and French aircraft.
