U.S. facilitates removal of Uzbekistani citizens engaging in unlawful Entry

On Wednesday, December 20, the United States of America facilitated the removal of Uzbekistani citizens who unlawfully entered the United States. Illegal migration via the U.S.-Mexico Border to the United States is dangerous and expensive, U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan reported.

The U.S. strongly condemns the actions and cautions Uzbeks not to fall prey to the lies of criminal smugglers who regard persons as commodities. U.S. borders are not open to illegal migration. The United States is working closely with the Government of Uzbekistan to remove Uzbekistani citizens who have no legal basis to remain in the United States. Uzbekistan’s partnership to facilitate the return of its nationals subject to removal from the United States shows its commitment to international obligations.

The Biden-Harris Administration has taken significant steps to expand safe and orderly pathways for migrants to lawfully enter the United States. Safe and legal pathways, including through the Diversity Visa program, offer opportunities for individuals to live and work in the United States while abiding by U.S. immigration laws.

Persons who cross the U.S. border unlawfully will be barred from legal re-entry for a minimum of five years. Family members and others who assist persons to illegally migrate may also be found permanently ineligible for a visa.

While the United States works with foreign partners to advance secure, orderly, and humane migration processes, it will swiftly remove under Title 8 authority all irregular entrants and non-citizens who have established no legal basis to remain in the United States.

Earlier Daryo reported that to counter support for Russia's illicit war in Ukraine, the U.S. Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced on November 2 the inclusion of 13 entities in the Entity List. These entities are alleged to aid Russia's military endeavors by acquiring, developing, and disseminating Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The updated regulation enforces strict export restrictions, effectively restricting their access to U.S.-controlled items. The entities on the Entity List present a significant risk of engaging in actions directly supporting Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine. Among the 13 entities, 12 are based in Russia, and one is located in Uzbekistan.
