In Turkmenistan, on the occasion of Neutrality Day (12 December), President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree pardoning 302 people, including six foreign citizens, local television Altyn Asyr reports. The document was signed at an extended government session.
"The pardoned citizens were wished by the President of Turkmenistan to contribute to the large-scale activities being implemented in our country, to serve the Fatherland in good faith."
The local administration was instructed to ensure their employment. In Turkmenistan, such actions are held on the eve of memorable dates, including Muslim holidays.
The previous action was timed to coincide with Independence Day (27 September), during which 1,180 imprisoned citizens were released.
