A special conference of medical institutions of the member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement on preparedness and response to emerging public health threats has begun in Ashgabat.
The event is being held in cooperation with the World Health Organisation (WHO), local TV channel Altyn Asyr reports.
Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent his address to the participants.
"This conference will be of great importance in coordinating efforts to further strengthen and intensify cooperation based on the experience of Non-Aligned Movement member countries gained during the pandemic and post-pandemic recovery periods."
The Non-Aligned Movement, an international organisation uniting 120 countries on the principle of non-participation in military blocs, was founded in 1961.
