The World Junior Boxing Championship semifinals were held in Armenia, where 11 representatives of the Uzbekistan national team participated. The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported that seven of them made it to the final.
The final matches are scheduled for December 3 and 4, where Uzbek boxers Maftuna Musurmonova, Sevara Mamatova, Maftuna Yangieva, Sobirahon Shakhobiddinova, Firuzjon Sadullaev, Hikmatillo Ulmasov, and Islom Salikhov will fight for the victory.
The competition is part of the International Boxing Association's (IBA) Junior World Boxing Championships, which is being held in Yerevan, Armenia. The event is set to showcase junior boxing, hosting around 600 young talents from around 60 nations across 26 weight categories.
Four more athletes from the Uzbekistan national team received bronze medals following the results of the semifinal matches. The awards went to Abdurakhmon Makhmudzhonov, Akbar Akhmadov, Khusan Kakhkhorov, and Norbek Abdullaev.
