On November 10, President Sadyr Japarov met with Fabienne Demol, the vice president representing the project implementation sector of the French energy company "Total Energies Renewables" in Paris.
Total Energies, based in Paris, is a French oil and gas corporation with operations spanning 130m². They engage in oil and gas extraction, refining, own a network of gas stations, and hold interests in chemical industries and other sectors, especially renewable energy. The company has significantly increased its production capacity in recent years due to solar, wind, and hydropower projects. They aim to achieve 100 GW of installed power generation and renewable electricity production by 2030.
The President expressed satisfaction in discussing potential energy collaboration, showing readiness for Kyrgyzstan to cooperate with Total Energies, one of the world's major oil and gas companies. This involves expertise not only in resource exploration but also in production, refining, and diverse chemical manufacturing and the construction of power stations.
Kyrgyzstan aims for sustainable development and the modernization of its energy infrastructure, incorporating advanced energy technologies and working toward carbon neutrality. The country is keen on the development and implementation of renewable energy sources—water, solar, and wind energy—as a strategic priority.
Japarov proposed the establishment of a Total Energies branch in Kyrgyzstan, fostering active collaboration. Demol affirmed their commitment to cooperation and announced the establishment of an expert group in Kyrgyzstan to develop planned goals and strengthen the country's energy sector. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy and TotalEnergies Renewables SA concluded the discussions.
