Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov addressed the state of affairs in Gaza during the 16th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit in Tashkent, as reported by 24.kg. He highlighted significant geopolitical shifts impacting the OIC region.
Expressing deep concern, Japarov underlined the distressing situation in the Middle East and the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He urged the involved parties to take extensive measures to avert harm to civilians, cease hostilities promptly, and initiate immediate peace talks to mitigate violence.
"We are watching the situation in the Middle East and the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip with pain in our hearts and deep sympathy. We call on the parties to take comprehensive measures to prevent violence against victims and civilians, to immediately stop hostilities and start the negotiation process immediately," he said.
Japarov also focused on Afghanistan, stressing the need to continue extending humanitarian assistance to the Afghan populace. He emphasized the significance of actively backing regional integration, both economically and in humanitarian endeavors, aiming to contribute to Afghanistan's economic restoration.
