The 16th Session of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Cooperation Forum "Central Asia - Republic of Korea" took place on November 1, in the vibrant city of Ashgabat. Delegations from across Central Asia convened to discuss and reinforce their bilateral and multilateral cooperation within this highly effective framework.
The event witnessed the participation of the Republic of Tajikistan's delegation, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirojiddin Muhriddin. Minister Muhriddin's speech outlined Tajikistan's vision for expanding cooperation and ensuring sustainable development within the Central Asia-Republic of Korea partnership.
Six thematic sessions were held on the sidelines of the Cooperation Forum, focusing on crucial areas that included transport and logistics, health and medicine, environmental protection and climate change, information and communication technologies, science and education, as well as tourism. These sessions were held both in-person and virtually, reflecting the evolving nature of diplomatic engagements in the modern world.
Participants at the sessions engaged in productive discussions on various topics relevant to the region, including the development of mutually beneficial cooperation and the implementation of joint projects. These discussions allowed for a deeper understanding of shared challenges and opportunities, as well as the potential for innovative solutions.
At the conclusion of the 16th Session, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum issued a Joint Statement. The statement underlined their commitment to strengthening cooperation in various sectors and reaffirmed the shared values and goals of the member states.
Furthermore, the participating countries and representatives adopted the Work Plan of the Secretariat of the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum for 2024. This work plan will serve as a blueprint for the upcoming year, guiding the parties in their joint efforts to enhance cooperation and achieve their mutual objectives.
