On October 18, at the 25th UNWTO General Assembly, government representatives unveiled investment opportunities in the area of Charvak in the Tashkent region. The project comprises a series of land plots for sale with the goal of bringing investors to increase tourism facilities in the area.
By decree from the President of Uzbekistan, the area of Charvak was established as a tourist and recreational zone in 2017. Government officials were then set with the task of attracting both local and foreign investment for the development of tourism infrastructure facilities.
Such facilities are set to include hotel complexes, health centers, restaurants, entertainment facilities and other objects of tourist importance.
Charvak, which is located 80 km from capital city Tashkent, is currently home to over 100 recreation and health centers, hotels, children’s camps and guest houses.
The investment brochure for Charvak boasts lake and mountain areas with diverse flora and fauna, including roaming bears, wolves, boars, badgers and more
In order to encourage further growth in the area, a number of plots of land are for sale by auction via government portal E-Auksion.
There are currently 20 plots of land for sale by auction but Mr Abdurakhimov Lutfiyor Adilovich, Chief Specialist of the Department of Investment Projects Formation and Monitoring said that number would rise to 72 in the near future.
There are two projects currently being planned. The first is the Chorvoq Darvozasi Project, which encompasses a hotel, restaurant, aqua park, sports field, and shopping complexes. The second project, the Paraplan Uchish Maydoni Project, features a sports complex with bungalow-style guest houses, offering activities such as paragliding, cycling, and zip-lining, among others.
