The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to China, expressed strong support for the expansion of practical cooperation with the renowned "China Energy Engineering Corporation." The move marks another significant step in bolstering the already thriving partnership between the two nations.
In a meeting held on the second day of President Mirziyoyev's visit to China, he engaged with Sun Hailian, Chairman of China Energy Engineering Corporation. "China Energy," a leading Chinese corporation with a vast portfolio of experience in designing and constructing modern energy, infrastructure, and industrial facilities, has been actively engaged in Uzbekistan's energy sector, contributing to its technological modernization.
The company's reputation and extensive expertise in implementing large-scale investment projects in various countries around the world have made it a valuable partner. With assets exceeding $150bn, "China Energy" has become a pivotal player in the global energy and infrastructure arena.
During their meeting, President Mirziyoyev and Chairman Sun Hailian celebrated "China Energy's" active involvement in Uzbekistan's energy modernization. The corporation is currently overseeing projects for the construction of solar and wind power plants in the Kashkadarya and Bukhara regions. Additionally, they are working on a thermal power plant project in the Syrdarya region and have expressed their intention to participate in constructing a hybrid power plant in the Navoi region.
The corporation's positive contributions to Uzbekistan have extended beyond the energy sector. In September of this year, "China Energy" successfully initiated modern cement production facilities in the Samarkand region.
The discussions during the meeting emphasized the various facets of cooperation with "China Energy." These include infrastructure modernization, the development of energy storage systems, and training programs aimed at nurturing skilled specialists within Uzbekistan's energy network as part of the 2030 development plan.
Significant attention was also dedicated to collaboration in the field of water management and the possibility of initiating joint projects across various industries.
As a culmination of the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop a comprehensive program for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. This program will serve as a roadmap for both Uzbekistan and "China Energy" to build upon their strong partnership, furthering technological advancements and contributing to the development of key sectors in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit also included a pivotal encounter with Wang Bo, the Chairman of the influential Chinese corporation "China CAMC Engineering" (CAMCE). A noteworthy testament to their collaborative efforts is the construction of the Olympic village, which plays a central role in the preparations for the Asian Youth Games slated to be hosted by Uzbekistan in 2025. CAMCE's active participation in this project not only underscores its commitment but also solidifies its role in promoting Uzbekistan's sports and infrastructure development.
