The X Kyrgyz-Russian interregional conference was held in Jalal-Abad on October 11, coinciding with the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan. The leaders of both nations addressed the conference, which focuses on industrial cooperation this year, making Jalal-Abad, Kyrgyzstan's industrial hub, an apt location.
Vladimir Putin highlighted that interregional cooperation spans a large part of Russia and all seven Kyrgyz regions. Russian regions, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Orenburg, and Chelyabinsk, are actively engaged in this cooperation. He also stressed the significant contributions of the Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises and the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund to interregional collaboration. Kyrgyzstan's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union was viewed positively.
“In the strategic partnership and cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, regions play one of the central roles. We will continue to encourage the desire of the regions of our countries to cooperate with each other and look for new areas of interaction. Naturally, we will support all your useful endeavors,” the Russian President said.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov invited Russian businesses to consider Kyrgyzstan as a dependable partner. He outlined energy, mining, agriculture, subsoil utilization, industrial production, and tourism as priority areas for cooperation.
“The potential for possible cooperation is high. The areas of interaction are diverse. I urge Russian business circles to consider Kyrgyzstan as a reliable business partner and invite them to active cooperation and joint implementation of major investment projects,” concluded Kyrgyzstan's president.
