In anticipation of the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the accompanying summit of CIS leaders, authorities in the Chui region of Kyrgyzstan have announced road closures and traffic restrictions to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the high-profile event. This announcement came during a press conference held by Police Lieutenant Colonel Manas Sydygaliev, Deputy Chief of the Main Traffic Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As per Lt. Col. Sydygaliev, road closures will affect several key routes, with the primary focus being on the areas surrounding the visit's key locations. The restricted routes include the one leading from Manas Airport to the state residence, encompassing Fuchik Street, Chui Avenue, and Manas Avenue.
Additionally, Vladimir Putin is slated to visit the Kant airbase during his visit, necessitating further road closures. Traffic movement will be restricted along the route from Manas Avenue to Kant airbase, spanning Chui Avenue, Abdrakhmanov Street, Zhibek Zholu Avenue, Alma-Atinskaya Street, the bypass road, and the turnoff to Kant (Tsemzavod) leading to the airbase.
Furthermore, the Russian President's itinerary includes a visit to the Ata-Beyit complex, resulting in limited traffic along Sadyrbaev Street, which connects the state residence to the memorial complex.
Lt. Col. Sydygaliev stressed the importance of public cooperation during this period of road closures and urged citizens to comply with the traffic restrictions. He warned that vehicles left on the roadside would be forcibly towed away. To minimize inconvenience, he advised residents to plan their routes in advance, avoiding potential traffic congestion and delays.
To maintain traffic safety during this high-profile event, more than 600 employees of the Main Traffic Safety Department will be deployed to oversee and manage the road closures and traffic diversions.
The visit of Vladimir Putin and the CIS summit is scheduled to take place on October 12-13. Authorities anticipate that these measures will ensure the security and smooth operation of the event while urging the public to stay informed about any additional updates or changes to the traffic restrictions.
Just a couple of days ago, the Kremlin hosted a momentous meeting between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in a narrow format. This exclusive gathering, held in a more intimate setting, served as a vivid demonstration of the resilient and ever-evolving Uzbek-Russian relationship. Both statesmen articulated their shared vision of this relationship as a comprehensive and strategic partnership, solidifying their alliance.
