In September, the Banking Supervision Committee of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan held 9 meetings, as reported by the regulator's press service.
During these meetings, 54 tasks were discussed. Half of them pertained to licensing issues of credit institutions, as well as the approval of changes in their leadership, supervisory boards, and charters.
During the month, licenses were revoked for four payment organizations. Regarding one payment service and one bank, the committee imposed restrictions on specific operations without specifying their nature.
Furthermore, active and passive operations for one bank were suspended due to non-compliance with statutory capital requirements that came into effect on September 1.
Six banks were fined for committed violations. Thirteen other banks received warnings about potential sanctions.
Among the key topics discussed by the committee were ensuring the compliance of the statutory capital of credit institutions with new legislative requirements. Additionally, discussions revolved around adhering to prudential criteria and managing risks associated with money laundering.
