During his official visit to Russia, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, focusing on bilateral economic matters. Mishustin highlighted the 14.5% growth in mutual trade over the first seven months of the year, reaching RUB 470bn ($4.75bn).
According to press service of president of Uzbekistan, companies from both countries are engaged in collaborative projects in energy, agriculture, transportation, and the digital economy. Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, and other Russian regions are at the forefront of developing ties with Uzbekistan.
Mirziyoyev highlighted the significance of the third Russia-Uzbekistan Interregional Cooperation Forum held in Kazan, where agreements worth $3.5bn were signed.
The discussions also covered plans for joint projects in healthcare and education digitization and the introduction of Russian-involved e-commerce in Uzbekistan.
Both leaders acknowledged the potential for further collaboration between their regions. They also agreed to exchange expertise in urban development, particularly housing renovation.
Mirziyoyev proposed the creation of a joint development fund to enhance cooperation with Russia, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in these challenging times.
