During the ongoing trial concerning the "Doc-1 Max" syrup and its potential connection to the deaths of 65 individuals in Uzbekistan, the defense attorney representing an Indian defendant submitted a formal request on October 4.
The request sought a modification of the precautionary measure related to the defendant's use of restraints, citing the defendant's vegetarianism and the fact that he cannot consume prison food, which could pose a threat to his health. The attorney, Davron Akhmadov, urged the court to reconsider the use of restraints on the defendant, proposing an alternative approach.
The court evaluated this request as a supplementary petition and ultimately rejected it. It is worth noting that during the initial phase of the "Doc-1 Max" trial, the defense attorney had already petitioned the court to withdraw the restraints on the defendant, arguing that the defendant's dietary restrictions and vegetarianism could be compromised if restraints were used. The court had previously evaluated and dismissed this request as well.
