In the recent session of the "Dok-1 Max" court, it was revealed that drugs obtained from manufacturers for laboratory testing were sold, and the proceeds were embezzled.
The session took place on September 27, 2023, during which questions were raised. The former head of the "Center for Standardization of Drug Products" (formerly known as the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute and the "Center for Expertise and Standardization of Medical Devices and Medical Equipment" under DUKka), Mr. M.H., in response to the court's questions, confirmed that the drugs obtained for laboratory testing were sold at retail pharmacies.
In the court's testimony, it was stated,
"Until June 2021, we purchased test drugs and distributed them among five people. Later, starting from June 2021, we began distributing them among six people. Every month, we inspected and collected drug samples worth UZS 80-100mn ($6,543-$8,179) and distributed them among ourselves. Some of the 'Dok-1 Max' and 'Ambronol' syrups were also taken from laboratory tests, sold, and distributed among us."
The court requested further clarification on this matter.
The responding party of the court, in response to this question, confirmed the part of the statement from the court's presentation, which mentioned the drugs being taken from laboratory tests, sold, and proceeds distributed. When asked if the drugs were dispensed and if revenue was distributed, the responding party replied briefly.
Additionally, the court revealed that the confiscated drugs were kept in a designated area, while the drugs related to partners were stored in the workplace.
According to documents submitted by the "Daryo" journalist, it was mentioned that the responding party and its partners, from the beginning of 2021 until December 2022, concealed the fact that a portion of the drugs received for testing purposes was embezzled.
They secretly collected drug samples every month, and the group of individuals, initially consisting of 5 members and later expanded to 6, profited from the sale of these drugs. The main employees received UZS 20 mn ($1,635), while the others were allocated amounts ranging from UZS 12 mn to 15 mn ($981- $1,226).
