Uzum Market and the Association of E-commerce received recognition for their contributions to the e-commerce development in Uzbekistan at an international conference dedicated to marketplaces.
The award was given to various state and international organizations and professional associations, including the Ministry of Digital Development of Uzbekistan, IT Park, the Association of Sellers of Marketplaces, the Fintech Association of Uzbekistan, and the World Bank. Besides, vendors who have contributed to the development of the national platform Uzum Market were acknowledged and rewarded.
The award underscores the significance of the e-commerce industry as a driver of the country's economic growth. Though the list of nominees is not exhaustive, it is noteworthy that Uzbekistan leads in the growth rate of online trade in Central Asia. The head of the Association of E-Commerce, Muzaffar Anazamov, shared this sentiment.
Six companies selling goods at Uzum Market were gifted the new iPhone 15 Pro as a token of appreciation for their contribution to Uzbekistan's national market and e-commerce development. Ilshat Khametov, the CEO of Uzum Market, expressed gratitude to industry partners and entrepreneurs, acknowledging them as the company's main asset. The new iPhone will serve as a practical working tool for entrepreneurs.
In the "Pioneers: leaders in new categories" category, the stores "Amphibia - swimming pool shop" and "Smart Home" were awarded for selling over 12,000 inflatable pools during the summer of 2023 and several hundred electric scooters, respectively. In the "Best, favorite: sellers in traditional categories" category, the stores "Authority," "Playowo," and "One Stop Shop" emerged as winners. The "Social mission: goods and sellers that help to make the world better" category was won by Teplo.uz, a seller and manufacturer that worked in three shifts during the Uzbek winter of 2023 to keep heating prices fair.
Currently, Uzum Market hosts over 6,000 entrepreneurs and companies from all over Uzbekistan, selling over 600,000 unique products with one-day delivery in 67 settlements across the country.
