In a heartwarming and grand inauguration ceremony, the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival, "Pearl of the Silk Road," commenced with a jubilant welcome from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The esteemed festival, which has gained global recognition, has drawn the attention of renowned film artists and enthusiasts from around the world, converging in the capital city to celebrate the art of cinema and promote international collaboration.

President Mirziyoyev began his address by extending his heartfelt congratulations to the participants, distinguished guests, and the artists and cultural figures hailing from diverse corners of the globe. He noted the enduring commitment of the Uzbek people to their rich cultural heritage and their appreciation for the art of film. He emphasized the pivotal role of cinema in shaping minds and fostering values of humanity, friendship, and solidarity, particularly among the youth.

The Tashkent International Film Festival was rebranded as the "Pearl of the Silk Road" in 2021 and has since become a beacon of global cinema. This year's edition, held under the theme "For Peace, Enlightenment, and Development," coincides with the 115th anniversary of Uzbekistan's national film art, adding a profound layer of significance to the event.

Over 300 talented filmmakers from more than 50 countries, as well as representatives of international organizations, have converged in Tashkent to participate in this prestigious cinematic gathering. The festival's popularity continues to surge worldwide, thanks to its commitment to celebrating diversity in the world of film.

In recent years, Uzbekistan has invested heavily in developing its cinematography sector, including the establishment of state-of-the-art infrastructure and robust material and technical resources. The government's efforts to create favorable conditions for cinematography professionals and support the non-state sector have borne fruit, leading to a flourishing film industry in the country.

The 15th Tashkent International Film Festival promises to be an extraordinary event, featuring film screenings, creative meetings, and dialogues that will ignite inspiration and new artistic endeavors among participants. A highlight of the festival is the creative competition for modern filmmakers to create short films, providing them with a unique platform for skill development and creativity.

He expressed his hope that the festival would serve as a platform for cultural exchange and deepen connections with Uzbekistan's artistic community.

In conclusion, President Mirziyoyev wished all festival attendees good health, creative achievements, and success in their cinematic endeavors. He expressed his belief that the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival would be a true celebration of art, symbolizing peace and friendship on a global scale.

The 15th Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" promises to be an exciting and enriching experience for all participants, reinforcing Uzbekistan's commitment to the world of cinema and cultural exchange.
