Naim Karimov was born on December 12, 1932 in Tashkent. He earned his degree from the Central Asian State University, currently known as the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan, in 1955. He continued his education at the postgraduate school of the same institution.
Karimov began his professional journey as a junior researcher in 1958 at the Institute of Language and Literature, now recognized as the Institute of Uzbek Language, Literature, and Folklore under the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Throughout his extensive scientific career, he served as a senior and leading researcher and head of the department. Karimov successfully defended his PhD thesis in 1962 and his doctoral thesis in 1993.
Extensive research conducted by Naim Karimov has developed a distinctive school in the study of 20th-century Uzbek literature. He authored numerous monographs and studies on Jadid educators' lives and works, significant representatives of 20th-century Uzbek literature, educational novels, and over 1,000 scientific articles. These valuable contributions warrant recognition within the literary studies field and have the potential to serve as crucial resources for textbooks and teaching aids.
