Airline ticket costs in Kazakhstan have recently surged, particularly in 13 out of 20 regions, resulting in an overall increase of 10.5%.
Zhetysu, a recently established region, has experienced the highest increase in flight prices, with a surge of 152.7%, followed by Kyzylorda (146.9%) and North Kazakhstan (115.9%). Mangistau had the smallest increase of 100.7%.
The pricing situation in West Kazakhstan remained stable compared to the previous year, whereas there was a decline in prices observed in Karaganda, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Turkestan, Zhambyl, and Ulytau.
Airlines transported over 7mn passengers from January to July, a 26% increase from the previous year.
At present, Kazakhstan boasts a fleet of 75 aircraft operated by its seven domestic airlines. Nonetheless, the country's Industry and Infrastructure Development Ministry has set an ambitious target of augmenting the country's civilian air fleet by 51 units by 2025.
