'We've been drinking tea wrong,' says Dr. Shukhrat Ergashev, a Professor of Medical Sciences, suggesting that drinking tea during meals disrupts the body's functioning. The doctor advises drinking it two hours after a meal instead. Uzbekistan's Ministry of Health supports this claim, as reported by Podrobno.uz.
"The key to proper nutrition is organizing a five-meal plan. The pancreas produces hormones and enzymes every three hours, which are absorbed into the blood and used to digest nutrients. Without five meals a day, the pancreas cannot fully perform its function, leading to problems in other organs. That's why many countries encourage eating five times a day",
the doctor said.
According to experts, many say they barely have time to eat three meals a day or gain so much weight after eating three meals a day that it feels like they're eating five.
Ergashev added that proper nutrition doesn't require much time, and avoiding excess weight is a matter of making reasonable choices.
"Instead of eating pilaf five times a day, one should avoid hard-to-digest, fatty, and fried foods. It is recommended to eat an apple or any other fruit three hours after breakfast",
the doctor noted.
Ergashev observed that smoking a cigarette takes an average of 5-6 minutes while eating an apple only takes 2 minutes.
'Our people have a habit of drinking tea while eating, but it disrupts the body's functioning. Instead, it is recommended to drink various juices or boiled water during meals and to consume tea two hours after eating. Proper nutrition involves eating healthy foods at the right time and place,'
he stressed.
