The trade turnover between Georgia and Russia exceeded $1bn in the first half of 2023, marking a nearly 25% increase, media reports.
Georgia exported almost 70,000 tons of fresh and mineral water to Russia.
Meanwhile, Russia exported more than 47,000 tons of water with sugar additives and more than 36,000 tons of wine and received more than 36,000 tons of ferroalloys and more than 4,000 passenger cars from Georgia.
Besides, alcohol exports from Georgia to Russia have increased by almost 40%.
Russia exported more than 553,000 tons of oil and petroleum products, nearly 356,000 tons of natural and associated gases, more than 93,000 tons of flour, 62,000 tons of glass bottles, and 45,000 tons of carbon steel rods.
Earlier, Daryo reported that in the first half of 2023, Armenia had a trade surplus of $210mn with Russia, exporting more goods than it imported. This happened for the first time since 2003. This year, goods supply tripled to $1.6bn while imports from Russia increased by 28% to $1.5bn.
