The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia's press service announced the opening of an agro-logistic complex in Uzbekistan's Jizzakh region.
On August 16, representatives of the economic ministries of the two countries met in Moscow to discuss the prospects of the Agroexpress project and agreed to increase mutual supplies of products using accelerated rail transportation and optimize their costs.
Russian Deputy Minister Dmitry Volvach shared plans to open an agro-logistics complex in Jizzakh and launch supplies from other regions of the two countries.
"Today, we are exploring the possibility of expanding our delivery services beyond Tashkent-Moscow to cover other regions of Uzbekistan and Russia. In October, we plan to launch an agro-logistic complex in Jizzakh with a capacity of up to 810,000 tons of products per year. The complex is situated in an area where agricultural products are consolidated", Volvach said.
In addition to Agroexperse, about 60 projects in the field of interregional cooperation are being worked out in the portfolio of the two countries.
