The President of Uzbekistan held talks with a delegation from Turkey's Cengiz Holding, led by the Chairman of the Board, Mehmet Cengiz. The discussion centered on the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation and the joint execution of projects aimed at advancing ESG and modernizing various sectors of Uzbekistan's economy.
Furthermore, Shavkat Mirziyoyev inaugurated the commencement of construction of another power plant in the Jizzakh region, set to contribute over 500MW to the nation's energy supply.
During the meeting, Cengiz Holding outlined their ambitious plans for upcoming ventures, amounting to a combined value surpassing $5bn. These prospective initiatives encompass road and tunnel modernization and construction, geological exploration, the development of promising mineral deposits, as well as overseeing energy infrastructure through public-private partnership arrangements.
It's notable that Cengiz Holding has already concluded two projects in Uzbekistan. These projects involved the commissioning of modern power plants, adding up to 460MW in total capacity, within the Tashkent and Syrdarya regions.
