Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov refused to train American entrepreneur Elon Musk for a fight against Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta corporation.
"Elon Musk wanted Khabib Nurmagomedov to prepare him for a fight against Zuckerberg. However, Khabib refused, and the reasons are unknown to us," reports TASS.
On June 22, Zuckerberg accepted Musk's challenge to settle their differences in a match. Musk challenged the head of Meta* after news emerged about the company's intentions to launch an app, a competitor to X (formerly Twitter), which is owned by Musk.
Later, Maye Musk, the mother of Tesla and SpaceX owner, stated that she canceled the fight between her son and Zuckerberg.
Previously it was reported that Musk and Zuckerberg were in negotiations with UFC for the fight.
Russian champion Nurmagomedov defended the UFC lightweight champion title three times before retiring. He achieved 29 victories in 29 professional fights. Khabib's last bout took place in October 2020 when he defeated American Justin Gaethje.
