The Taliban delegation is scheduled to meet with US representatives in Doha, Qatar, for further negotiations. Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the press secretary of the Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that the delegation, led by Amir Khan Muttaqi, head of the ministry, will travel there within five days (from July 27).
During these talks, the "Taliban" intends to address several key issues with the US:
- The removal of US sanctions imposed on the Taliban government.
- The removal of the "Taliban" government from the United Nations' "black list."
- The unblocking of Afghanistan's foreign assets.
- The cessation of American drone intrusions into Afghanistan's airspace.
The US State Department disclosed that Thomas West, the special representative for Afghanistan, and Rina Amiri, the special representative for women's and human rights in Afghanistan, will be participating in the negotiations with the Taliban.
Priority issues for the U.S. side will include humanitarian support for the people of Afghanistan, economic stabilization, fair and dignified treatment of all Afghans, including women and girls, security issues, and efforts to counter narcotics production and trafficking.
Moreover, in addition to meeting US representatives, the Taliban will also hold bilateral meetings with Qatari officials.

Previously, Amir Khan Muttaqi expressed willingness to cooperate with the USA if the sanctions against the "Taliban" movement are lifted. He highlighted the potential for Afghanistan to mend relations with countries worldwide.
The economic and humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan worsened following the Taliban's takeover of Kabul on August 15, 2021. In response, Washington and other international donors froze Afghan assets abroad, exacerbating the country's challenges.
