A new temperature record has been broken in the Turkestan region, surpassing the one set 102 years ago, media has reported, citing Kazhydromet as the source.
According to forecasters, the beginning of summer saw an intense heat wave, followed by cool autumn weather that surprised many.
The first ten days of June were notably hot, with daytime temperatures breaking previous years' absolute maximums. This temperature rise was due to the steady influx of tropical air masses from Iran and Central Asia.
In Turkestan, the maximum air temperature of +40.7 degrees was recorded in June, surpassing the previous record of +40 degrees set in 1921.
