Russian leather brand "Tavro" has shown interest in the Uzbekistan market, press service of the association "Uzcharmsanoat" informs on July 11.
Recently, company executives met with representatives of the association to discuss establishing investment cooperation. The guests acknowledged the active growth of the leather and footwear industry in Uzbekistan and the interest in Russian companies in this segment.
Representatives of "Tavro" voiced an initiative to open new production facilities in the country. To accomplish this, they plan to study the conditions at local enterprises to select a partner.
In addition, the company intends to introduce its finished leather to the Uzbekistan market. Footwear and premium- and mid-range leather goods could be produced using materials from the company.
In the past year, Russian footwear manufacturers have been increasing their contacts with Uzbekistan. In April 2022, "Avanti" announced plans to establish a joint venture in the country, while the SOL brand decided to replace Chinese footwear with elite-class footwear from Uzbekistan.
A year later, the company "Technolux" announced plans to create a factory in Uzbekistan. The new production facility is expected to start with an annual output of 80,000 pairs of shoes, primarily for export.
