Bakyt Torobayev, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, presided over a meeting attended by representatives from relevant government agencies and financial institutions to discuss the construction and operation of the Mailuu-Suu small hydroelectric power station in the Noken district of the Jalal-Abad region, 24.kg reports.
During the meeting, the participants focused on the joint financing of the Mailuu-Suu small hydroelectric power station project. The financial and credit fund under the Ministry of Finance, Mailuu-Suu Lamp Plant OJSC, the Eurasian Development Bank, and the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund are considering a collaborative investment for the project.
The estimated cost of the project exceeds $35mn, and the construction is planned to be completed within two and a half years. The project aims to have a total capacity of 26MW, with an expected annual electricity production of 108mn kilowatt-hours from the small hydroelectric power station on average.
