Uzbekistan imported 3,816 electric vehicles worth $120 mn from abroad between January and May 2023, The Agency of Statistics reports.
Compared to the same period last year, the import figures have increased by 2,846 units.
According to available data, Uzbekistan procures electric vehicles from 10 foreign countries, including China, Hong Kong, Germany, South Korea, UAE, USA, Turkey, Lithuania, Spain, and Russia.
In March 2023, Uzbekistan imported 882 electric cars from foreign countries.
From January to March, the largest number of electric cars were imported from China - 2278. Additionally, 202 electric cars were purchased from Hong Kong, 32 from Germany, 9 from Korea, and 16 from the UAE. The USA accounted for 4 electric cars.
