In the Global Peace Index's report, which ranks countries based on their level of peacefulness, Uzbekistan secured the 87th position out of 163 countries in 2022.
This represents a slight decline compared to the previous year when Uzbekistan was ranked 86th. In the 2020, 2019, and 2018 editions of the index, Uzbekistan held the 103rd, 102nd, and 104th positions, respectively.
Among the Central Asian countries, Kyrgyzstan ranked 91st, Tajikistan 92nd, Kazakhstan 97th, and Turkmenistan 103rd. Afghanistan ranked last among the 163 countries included in the index.
Several countries, including South Sudan, Russia, Syria, and Yemen, were identified as having a low level of peace.
Iceland secured the top spot as the most peace-loving country in the ranking. New Zealand, Ireland, Denmark, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Singapore, and Japan also featured among the top ten countries known for their commitment to peace.
