ACWA Power has announced its new partnership with Energy China for an upcoming project in Uzbekistan, media reports.

The corresponding agreement was inked in Riyadh by ACWA's Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Raad al-Saady, and Energy China International Group's Chairman, Lyu Ze Xiang.
Energy China has been appointed as the primary contractor for the photoelectric power plant project in the Tashkent region, responsible for design, procurement, and construction.
ACWA has also finalized an agreement with National Electricity Grids for a 400 MW power plant project in the Yukorichirik district, incorporating a 334 MW energy storage system. Additionally, ACWA is involved in constructing wind farms in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Bukhara and Samarkand regions, with a total capacity of 2.5 GW.
Furthermore, ACWA is investing in constructing a thermal power plant in Syrdarya and participating in producing "green" hydrogen in the Chirchik project.
ACWA Power specializes in developing, investing, and operating power generation, desalinated water, and green hydrogen production facilities. Established in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2004, the company has grown to employ over 4,000 skilled professionals. ACWA Power operates in 12 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia, offering a diverse portfolio of 77 projects that are either operational, under development or construction, with a total investment value of SAR 293bn ($78.2bn).
