More assistance is on the way, reports BBC news on June 21. The Royal Canadian Navy ship HMCS Glace Bay is scheduled to arrive at the search site on June 22 at 12:00 local time.
A diving medicine medical crew and a six-person mobile hyperbaric recompression chamber are on board the ship.
If the sub is found, the ship's recompression chambers can be used to cure or prevent decompression sickness. Nitrogen bubbles arise in tissue and blood when divers are subjected to rapid pressure drops.
The Terry Fox, a Canadian Coast Guard ship, is already on the location, preparing to load search and rescue equipment and people.
Daryo mentioned earlier that the submersible, which carried a crew of five, including members of The Explorers Club, lost contact with its surface ship on June 18 morning in Newfoundland waters.
