After the fire at the market, an extraordinary meeting was held on June 17, Regional Emergency Management Department (EMD) reported.
The aftermath of the devastating fire that occurred at theKokand Market has spurred action and prompted an extraordinary meeting within the association of markets and shopping complexes in the Andijan region.
Led by the head of the Emergency Management Department, O. Qo‘ldoshev, the gathering brought together the leaders of 39 markets and shopping complexes affiliated with the association. The primary focus of the meeting was to address the implementation of the relevant order issued by the Cabinet of Ministers, with an emphasis on preventing emergency situations and enhancing fire safety measures.
During the meeting, O. Qo‘ldoshev delivered crucial instructions to tackle the key concerns at hand. One of the decisions made was the establishment of a dedicated department for fire safety supervision within the regional EMD. This department would operate through contractual agreements with markets and shopping complexes with high cargo loading and a fire risk. This initiative aims to ensure strict adherence to fire safety protocols and prevent future incidents.
Furthermore, the appointment of administrators and responsible individuals to oversee the management of the 39 markets and shopping complexes was discussed. It was agreed upon that these individuals would receive additional specialized training to enhance their understanding of fire safety procedures.
To ensure the effective execution of the assigned tasks, the association and the leaders of the respective departments within its structure were entrusted with the responsibility, as outlined in the resolution of the meeting.
