On May 31 The Kremlin said that it was "concerned" about Ukrainian shelling of Belgorod region, saying,"The shelling of civilian objects continues there. Here, too, by the way, we have not heard a single word of condemnation from any country that belongs to the "collective West" so far. The situation there is quite alarming. Measures are being taken."
The Belgorod region which is a border provence has repeatedly come under attacks from Kyic's forces in recent weeks.
The Kremlin also said Moscow's air defences were working effectively but had room for improvement, a day after Russia said Ukraine had conducted its biggest-ever drone strike on the Russian capital.
When asked about what President Putin meant when he said there was room for improvement in the Moscow air defence system, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, told reporters "He meant that the system worked effectively, but there is room to improve its efficiency, and work will continue to improve the air defence systems. That's what the president had in mind."
