Representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources of Uzbekistan and the Korean Institute of Environmental Industry and Technology (KEITI) recently convened in South Korea to collaborate on a grant project worth approximately $6.6mn.
According to reports, the two parties entered into an agreement to develop a facility that will collect and manage landfill gas, establish a medical waste incineration facility, and construct a logistics base. Furthermore, the project will involve constructing waste transfer stations and new landfills, procuring recycling equipment, composting tools, containers, and specialized medical waste incinerators.
Both parties explored the possibility of creating a KEITI office in Tashkent, which would provide support for joint efforts with the Ministry of Natural Resources of Uzbekistan and other Central Asian nations.
