Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been invited to the Arab League (ADL) summit to present his perspectives on the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, as announced by Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Faisal bin Farhan.
The minister highlighted that the summit participants welcome the opportunity to hear both sides of the war and emphasized the importance of dialogue as the only way to resolve the conflict. The Arab countries' response to the crisis remains "positively neutral."
The minister also acknowledged Russian President Vladimir Putin's letter to the summit participants, which focused on expanding cooperation with Arab nations and resolving regional conflicts but did not mention Ukraine.
Following his visit to Saudi Arabia, Zelensky expressed gratitude to Prime Minister and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud via Twitter for their support of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty. He also held bilateral meetings with representatives from Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Iraq.
Afterward, Zelensky traveled to Japan to attend the G7 summit on May 19-21. The Ukrainian president is expected to participate in the event in person and hold a meeting with US President Joe Biden to discuss current issues.
