In America, those who cross the Mexican border illegally face criminal charges, journalist Navbahor Imomova told about this in an interview with a "Daryo" reporter. She said that crossing the border has serious consequences.
"I absolutely do not recommend anyone to cross the border and enter America. It's dangerous, it's a crime. Serious measures will be taken against those who cross the border in this way, and they will be held criminally liable. There are many missing people. For years, I have been talking to people who want to enter the United States this way. They apply a lot. We also know those who came and were detained here.
There are those who have come to Mexico and are thinking about how to get into it. I tried to get interviews from many of them myself. There are also those who are hiding. When you come to the border and say: "My life is in danger in my country, give me asylum", America may not always believe you. If you fail to pass the border service, your acquaintances in the USA will not be able to take you there. That is, this is an extremely fragile and dangerous risk," - says the correspondent of "Voice of America".
Navbahor Imomova said that many people ask journalists for advice on how to get to the USA through Mexico, but they don't know what to do.
"There are Uzbeks who try to come to America even if they sell everything, give up their families, even risk the lives of their spouses and children. This is a dangerous journey. This should not be done. If you came illegally, you don't even have a day in America. True, there are about 12 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. But if you imagine that if I become one of them, I will be fine and I will live comfortably in the United States, you are wrong. Because he knows what every migrant is going through.
True, there are immigrants who have been living here without documents for 10-15 years. They rely on someone's help, maybe someone gave them a job and patted their head. But that doesn't mean you can become one of them. Nobody likes illegal immigrants in the United States. And those who live by practice cannot be envied," said the journalist.
