The governments of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have agreed to accelerate the establishment of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation (ICIC), Dunyo reports.
According to an article published in the leading newspaper "Kazakhstanskaya pravda," the two countries account for about 80% of all trade in Central Asia and have significant prospects for deepening cooperation in agriculture and industrial development.
The two governments also intend to enhance cooperation in ecology, water management, and protecting migrant workers' rights. The article highlights 1,200 enterprises in Uzbekistan with Kazakh capital, a significant increase from just five years ago.
The Central Asian republics have adopted a "Roadmap" covering priority areas and specific projects worth $10bn and inked a number of bilateral documents, including the Protocol of the 20th Intergovernmental Commission meeting.
