Kazakhstan sent construction materials, confectionery and dairy products, as well as IT services worth more than $44 million to Uzbekistan, Khabar 24 reports.
New export contracts were signed following a trade mission of 26 Kazakh producers and service providers in Tashkent attended by more than 100 local businessmen.
The trade turnover between our countries, according to the results of last year, amounted to $5 bn. The indicator can surge exponentially as the results of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation which is expected to be the main platform for creating a joint product intended for export to third countries.
Badriddin Abidov, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan:
‘2 countries agreed to set a centre to meet not only the needs of both countries, but it will also be such a regional hub. And in this regard, we are now already working on the joint use of transport corridors and the creation of a flexible tariff policy.’
