The agreement on establishing the Geographical Council of Turkic States is set to be announced and inked in Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent on May 8, media reports.
The council is set to bring together various geographical communities from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, with the initiative primarily driven by the Kazakh National Public Association QazaqGeography.
The council's primary objective would be to enhance cooperation between Turkic-speaking research institutions and public associations while preserving the mutual cultural and historical heritage. Additionally, the board will be committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 and serving as a public diplomacy platform.
