An earthquake of 4.3 magnitude shook Kyrgyzstan on May 2 at 09:46 which was also felt in the regions of Uzbekistan, the Center for Seismological Monitoring reports.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 205 kilometres southeast of Tashkent.
Perceived power in the territory of Uzbekistan:
- In Yangikurgan district - 2-3 points;
- In Kosonsoy district — 2 points.
The force of the earthquake that occurred in Kyrgyzstan in mid-April was also felt in Andijan region. A few days before that, the head of the Ministry of Emergencies of Kazakhstan, Yuriy Ilin, stated that the situation in Turkey prompted Kazakhstan to pay special attention to seismic safety issues. According to the Minister, more than 40 percent of the territory of Kazakhstan experienced this natural disaster.
