The Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Serik Zhumangarin, announced that the country's authorities have decided not to purchase early cabbage from farmers in Uzbekistan through the joint foreign trade company, UzKazTrade, after initially planning to do so for 130 tenges per kg, media reports.
This decision was made to support domestic cabbage producers selling their products at a similar price in the Turkestan region.
Zhumangarin also mentioned that the possibility of purchasing early potatoes from Uzbekistan and Pakistan is under consideration.
The foreign trade company, UzKazTrade, was established in March 2023 by KazTrade and UzTrade with the aim of increasing mutual trade turnover between the two countries and stabilizing product prices.
