Kazakhstan observes the People's Unity Day on May 1. This holiday, which has been celebrated since 1996, serves as a means of solemnizing ties and mutual respect among the diverse ethnic groups in Kazakhstan.
Across various cities of the Central Asian country, grand festivals, exhibitions, and contests are held to showcase the unique cultural identities of each of more than 130 groups. To honor this occasion, many activities have been planned throughout the country. For example, festivities in Astana will begin at noon at the Baiterek monument and City Square.
The celebrations will include a concert featuring artists from various organizations within the city, the State Academic Philharmonic, and prominent domestic performers.
