An explosion in a house in the city of Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan, was caught on the external video cameras of a neighboring house. The roof of the building "bounced" due to the force of the explosion, Daryo correspondent reports from Kazakhstan.
Firefighters and rescuers immediately arrived at the scene. They determined that a possible gas leak caused the explosion. The house caught fire, and some parts collapsed. The fire engulfed a nearby building.
"Daryo" correspondent received information about one victim. Reportedly, Jurabek Polatov is an Uzbekistan citizen born in 1984. According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, the man was taken to the city hospital with 1st degree burns on his limbs.
"The citizen of Uzbekistan received thermal burns on his face, two hands, and some parts of both legs. The patient's condition is of moderate severity," the multidisciplinary city hospital said.
The Natural Disaster Medicine Center employees, police, and gas supply organization also worked at the scene.
On April 17, a gas cylinder exploded in a two-story residential building in Zhanaozen, Kazakhstan, and the building's landing collapsed, killing four people.
