The working committee investigated three criminal charges presented before the Supreme Court against 208 people, the Supreme Court's press service reports.
The Criminal Trial Panel of the Supreme Court acquitted 208 people in a total of three criminal cases under Article 83 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
"Now, justice was served, and the truth that had been hidden for decades was embraced." The Supreme Court stated that "the innocent names of the victims of tyranny who courageously pushed for freedom and even lost their lives, will live eternally in the hearts of our people."
Notably, as a result of the research group's efforts, 408 Uzbeks who were persecuted during the Soviet era have been forgiven and freed in recent years.
