On April 19, the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan will return the cases repressed during the Soviet era, the press service of the Supreme Court reports.
The presidential decree on further study of the heritage of the repressed and additional measures to perpetuate their memory opens the legal way to find the truth and rehabilitate the Great Purge victims.
The court already restored the truth of who had endured injustice during the Soviet Era. A number of Uzbek compatriots who suffered during the years of Soviet power were acquitted.
At the beginning of the year, the Supreme Court had already rehabilitated 120 people who were repressed in the 1920s and 1930s.
The meetings will be open to the public.
