Early voting on the new Constitution of Uzbekistan began on April 19 and is set to continue until April 26.
Referendum stations for early voting are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on working days and from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on holidays and weekends.
The bulletin asks: 'Do you accept the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan?'. Answer options are 'Yes' and 'No.'
Citizens who cannot be in their residences on the day of the referendum may vote early.
For early voting, the voter must come to the referendum precinct with an identity document.
The voter receives a ballot from the precinct commission based on a statement indicating the reason for the absence on the day of the referendum (vacation, travel, travel abroad, etc.).
In the presence of at least two members of the precinct commission, the voter shall sign for the receipt of the referendum ballot in the list of voters.
The voter must then fill in the ballot in a specially equipped booth or the secret voting room.
The filled ballot paper shall be placed in a sealed envelope. The signatures of two members of the precinct commission shall be put at the place where the envelope is glued and shall be confirmed by the commission's seal.
The envelope will be kept in the safe of the precinct commission until the moment of counting votes at the end of the referendum.
A referendum on the new version of the Constitution (text in PDF) is scheduled for April 30.
The list of referendum stations is available on the CEC website.
